Why Graduates?
Over the last few years, there has been a cultural shift on recruiting staff for Independent Schools. Although there is still a place in many schools for Gap Students, the need for Graduates has increased hugely. This is due to the added responsibilities that can be given to them, appointing young people who have a genuine interest in education as a career and the opportunity to employ individuals that may stay for longer than one school year. Furthermore, the amount of 'on the job' PGCEs has also increased due to having the ability to see how these individuals thrive in a real life school environment.
Why become a Grad Assistant?
If you are a recent Graduate, or looking for a placement during your University course, a Graduate Assistant role could be the perfect stepping stone into a career in education, or a chance to gain transferable experience for your future career. Furthermore, it could provide you with accommodation, food and bills along with a competitive salary whilst working in an incredibly rewarding and enjoyable environment.
